Is it hard to make my own categories and song lists?
Nope. The lists are merely text documents (.xml) that you can edit in any simple text editor. We recommend Notepad on the PC and SubEthaEdit on the Mac. (for Mac OS9 users we recommend SimpleText).
Do I have to know how to program anything?
Nope. All you really need to know are the names of your audio files (e.g. mazzyStar_fade_into_you.mp3), how you want them to appear in your Player (e.g. Fade Into You - Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See) and how you want to promote them (artist name, project name, etc.).
How do I put the iDeal Music Player on my web site?
Easy. Since the iDeal Music Player is to be used on your website, it's assumed that someone on your team understands web design and web site management. Detailed instructions are included w/ your download on how to exactly implement the player, but essentially, all you need to do is copy some HTML code and paste it into your existing webpage.
How easy is it to make my own custom skin?
Really Easy. Included in your download is a Photoshop document with a sample skin. All the cutout spots are created with a layer mask, so all you have to do is make your source image 400 by 180 and copy and paste the layer mask onto your existing image. That's it! Save it for the web and you're done.
But what if I don't have/know Photoshop?
Simple. For a small service charge, Nonlinear Media will make as many custom skins for you as you need. You supply the source images (e.g. logos, company names, color schemes, etc.) and we'll take it from there. For details, check out our Options and Purchase pages.
What if my company has multiple projects and I want to showcase the music in each project?
Easy. In this case we recommend either the MP-PRO or MP-EXTREME licenses for the appropriate number of Players you'll need - that way, each of your projects can use a separate and customized iDeal Music Player. Learn more about the different options here.
Does the iDeal Music Player only work for music?
Nope. You can use it for any audio file including sound effects, narrative, audio-books. If it's aural, the iDeal Music Player is ideal for you.
Should I buy the iDeal Music Player?
Yep. But only if you want to be über-cool.
